Person freed from car after crash between Somerton and Street

A PERSON was freed from a car after a crash between Somerton and Street this morning.

A two-vehicle crash occurred in Compton Dundon at just after 7am, with emergency services sent to the scene.

Firefighters from Somerton and Street helped free a person from one of the cars involved.

A Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Two fire engines were sent to a report of a road traffic collision in Compton Dundon, Somerset.

“On arrival, crews confirmed that this involved two vehicles, with one person trapped in one of the cars.

“Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the casualty, who was then left in hands of the paramedics.

“Both vehicles were made safe.”
