Man passes away after being hit by motorbike in Somerset street

A MAN has died after being hit by a motorcycle in Bath earlier this month.

The incident occurred on the A36 Rossiter Road at just before 7.40pm on Saturday, October 11, and involved a pedestrian and a blue Yamaha motorbike.

The motorcyclist subsequently collided with a grey Ford Transit van, police said, with the pedestrian – a man in his 60s – taken to hospital.

Sadly, he passed away on Sunday (October 27).

“His family have been updated and are being supported by a specially trained officer. Our thoughts are with them,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.

“The motorcyclist was also taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

“Investigators continue to urge anyone who either witnessed the collision or has any footage of it – or the moments leading up to it – to come forward.”

Anyone with information that might help should contact police on 101 and give the reference number 5225285860.
