“VITAL” drainage works will be taking place next month – closing a main road through a Somerset village.
From March 9 to 13, Somerset Council road contractors Kier will be carrying out work on the A361 at Pilton.
The road will be closed on weekdays from 9.30am to 3.30pm, with manually-controlled traffic lights in place outside those hours.
Extra signs at either end of the A361 will be put in place to advise of the closure times and location.
The council’s lead member for transport and waste services, Councillor Richard Wilkins, said: “The team will do their best to get the work completed as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drainage work is essential to make sure that surface water can drain away.
“We are extremely grateful to residents and motorists for their support and understanding while this work is done.”
