MORE resurfacing work is coming to Bridgwater next week – closing a busy route.
Somerset Council is carrying out work on the Eastern Avenue junction with the A372 across seven days, from October 13 to 20.
“The road will be closed to vehicles for 24 hours as the scale and nature of the work mean it is not possible to re-open outside working hours or the weekend,” a spokesperson said.
“While the site is closed there will be two-way temporary traffic signals on the A372.
“To reduce disruption these will be manually controlled during the day.”
Work will also take place on the A372 Westonzoyland Road, starting on October 17, with completion due between October 20 and 24.
The road will be closed on weekday evenings only from 6.30pm to 11.30pm.

“Advanced signage will be put up in place before the road closure to advise people of the works due to take place,” the council said.
“These will be supported by the larger electronic variable message signs. While the road is closed, there will be a signed diversion in place.
“Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout for residents – there may be some restrictions or delays for vehicle access on occasion to some properties and residents should liaise with the site team on this.”
Lead member for transport and waste services, Councillor Richard Wilkins, said: “The team will do their best to get the work completed as quickly and painlessly as possible – please do liaise with them if you are a resident and need to raise any issues around access.
“We are extremely grateful to residents for their support and understanding while this work is done.”
It comes amid a host of roadworks in Bridgwater in recent weeks, months and years.
From today, resurfacing work is being carried out around the Dunball Roundabout, while Eastover has just re-opened following months of work on the Celebration Mile project in the town centre.
