A DRIVER is in a life-threatening condition after a crash near Cricket St Thomas on Saturday night (August 31).
Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident – which involved a blue Ford Fiesta – on the A30 at around 11pm at the junction with the B3167 Roman Road.
“A man, the driver and sole occupant of the car, has gone to hospital where he remains with injuries currently described as potentially life-threatening,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said. “His next of kin are aware.”
The road was closed overnight as crash investigators looked into the incident and the car was recovered. It reopened by 9am on Sunday (September 1).
“The vehicle was being driven westwards towards Chard in the moments before the collision,” the spokesperson added.
“Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened or has any footage which could help.”
