A CRASH closed two lanes of the M5 between Bridgwater and Taunton this afternoon – with delays of around an hour lasting until the early evening.
National Highways said the incident saw lanes 1 and 2 of the northbound carriageway shut between junction 25 (Taunton) and junction 24 (Bridgwater).
“There’s currently approximately 5.5 miles of congestion on approach, causing delays of 45 minutes above usual journey times,” a spokesperson said early in the afternoon.
After recovery and investigation work was carried out at the scene, the lanes were re-opened at just before 4pm, when the spokesperson said there was still around six miles of queues.
