A £10.7 MILLION upgrade of a roundabout near Bridgwater is fully operational after months of lane and road closures.
Drivers can now utilise changes to the Dunball Roundabout and surrounding routes, which links junction 23 of the M5 with Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea and the new Gravity campus at Puriton.
Carried out by Somerset Council contractor Centregreat, the work aims to improve traffic flow and improve the space for cyclists and pedestrians.
The roadworks began in November last year, with various road and lane closures in place throughout the year for works and resurfacing.
A Somerset Council spokesperson said: “The upgraded Dunball roundabout is now fully operational.
“Our specialist teams will stay on site for the next few weeks to ensure the junction is operating as efficiently as possible.
“We’re grateful to residents, businesses and road users for their patience and support. Thank you.”

Absolute joke. 12 months of bedlam. Rarely seen a contractor there, no wonder it took so long. And to have the exit from bridgwater at 1 Lane for so long was unnecessary. And is there a lane from the motorway that is continuous without lights???
It just means traffic will reach the queues at the Cannon Roudabout faster!
