FORMER ballet dancer and wartime ambulance driver Emma Pyecroft celebrated turning 104 at her home in Wells.
Celebrations were in full swing at Crandon Springs Care Home as Emma was joined by family, friends, staff and residents to help mark the occasion.
After a morning enjoying cakes, cards and presents, staff and other residents helped Emma keep celebrating long into the afternoon.
An accomplished ballet dancer in her younger years, Emma recounted her time in the theatre, and recently enjoyed a visit from Millfield School student Megan, who studies ballet at the South West School of Dance.
Emma congratulated Megan on her skills and presented her with flowers.

The veteran also has many stories to tell about her time working as an ambulance driver for the ARP in Sheffield during World War Two, when she was 18.
Her experiences have even been displayed at the National Services Museum in Sheffield.
Crandon Springs general manager, Meg Cleal, said: “This is Emma’s fifth birthday celebration with us at Crandon Springs; it’s an honour to celebrate with her and her family.
“She is a valued member of our community, held in great affection by residents and staff alike.
“We enjoy hearing Emma’s fascinating stories and celebrating her remarkable and well lived life.
“It’s so important to remember and share together and to find ways to enjoy new experiences and activities together – this is why we place so much importance on our life enrichment programme here at Crandon Springs.”
