Taunton hospital car park re-opens after closure due to ‘incident’

THE multi-storey car park at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton was closed today after an “incident” involving a vehicle.

Bosses said the car park would remain closed “until further notice” after an incident this morning (November 7), but the facility re-opened to traffic at around 2.15pm.

“For those travelling into Musgrove today, we have opened all other car parks for use (including staff car parks), but space is very limited, so if you’re able to, please consider using the park and ride, other public transport, (or) drop-off areas,” a spokesperson said after the incident.

“Please continue to attend your appointments as normal but allow some extra time where possible. If you are concerned about making it to your appointment, please call the number on your appointment letter.

“If your car is currently parked in the multi-storey car park, then you can collect it and leave as usual. Marshals from Q-Park are on site to assist if needed.”

Though the hospital has not confirmed details of the incident, it is understood it involved a car crashing into a wall on one of the parking levels.

And at just after 2pm, the hospital said the car park had re-opened.
