A GARDEN centre restaurant in Taunton has won gold at a regional food awards – as well as having two unique dishes recognised.
The Elm Tree Restaurant, at Monkton Elm Garden Centre, was handed the top accolade in the casual dining category for Somerset at the Taste of the West 2025 awards.
Meanwhile, the eatery was also handed gold awards for its Burnt Basque Cheesecake and Biscoff Éclair.

Judges at Taste of the West praised the family-run restaurant, and said: “The food is amazing value and there is something for everyone, cooked on the premises and packed with flavour.
“The staff really added value to the whole experience with their smiles and engagement.”
Head of food and beverage at the restaurant, Wendy, said: “We are absolutely delighted on winning Gold in our first year of entering. Our team work incredibly hard to create a welcoming atmosphere, delicious and freshly prepared meals for our customers every day.
“These awards are a true reflection of their passion and dedication.”
