Derelict Somerset farm – with planning for new homes – on the market for £800,000

A DERELICT Somerset farm – with planning permission for development of seven homes – is up for sale.

Manor Farm, at Lopen, near South Petherton, has been put on the market with a guide price of £800,000, marketed by Carter Jonas.

The property, which stretches to more than 8.5 acres, is made up of a grade II-listed farmhouse and a range of farm buildings.

Planning permission was previously granted for the conversion of a range of traditional and modern buildings to seven dwellings.

The site also includes adjoining pasture paddocks.

“Manor Farmhouse comprises a semi-detached four-bedroom stone and tile farmhouse situated opposite the farm buildings,” the listing said.

“The property requires complete renovation. Outside, to the rear of the property to the north and west, is a good-sized garden and space for parking.

“In addition to the farmstead, there are gently sloping pasture paddocks to the south of the farmstead which run down to the stream which forms the southern boundary of the property.

“The paddocks total 5.75 acres and, in all, the site extends to 8.59 acres.”

The property is being offered for sale as a whole by private treaty with a guide price of £800,000.
