‘Wintry showers’ could hit Somerset by the weekend, Met Office forecasts

“WINTRY showers” could hit the west country at the end of the week as temperatures hit freezing, forecasters have warned.

The Met Office said plummeting temperatures could bring wintry conditions from the west between Thursday and Saturday (November 20 to 22).

In the meantime, tonight could also bring frost, with thermometers set to dip below freezing overnight, though brighter skies will bring temperatures of around 7C on Wednesday.

The Met Office said for Thursday to Saturday: “Staying cold with sunny spells. Wintry showers in the west slowly easing.

“A change into the weekend as wind and rain moves in allowing temperatures to increase closer to average.”

For fans of the winter snow, however, chances are not above 20%, according to the Met Office forecasts.
