RECYCLING collections in parts of Somerset could be delayed today due to “a range of operational issues”.
Somerset Council said residents in the Wells and North Mendip area could face long waits for kerbside pick-ups today (September 23).
Areas affected are in and around Wells, Westbury-sub-Mendip, Stratton-on-the-Fosse, Chilcompton, Priddy, Holcombe, Oakhill, Dulcote, Coleford and Draycott.
“If residents’ recycling has not been collected, they are asked leave boxes and bags out and crews will return the next day – there’s no need to report it,” a council spokesperson said.
“Crews will be working to try to make sure recycling is collected and will be working on Saturday if needed.
“If it’s been more than 24 hours and the recycling has not been collected, then please report it as missed.”
