North Somerset recycling and food waste collections facing week-long delays

PEOPLE whose recycling collection was missed on Thursday will now have to wait until next week.

As a driver shortage continues at North Somerset Council (NSC), collections continue to be delayed as crews struggle to catch up.

An NSC spokesperson said: “Due to the HGV driver shortage we will now be collecting any recycling which has not been collected today with next weeks recycling on Thursday, August 28.”

People were told to bring containers in and to leave extra recycling out in carrier bags or spare boxes.

Meanwhile, people with full food waste caddies can leave extra waste in a kitchen caddy with a tied-up bag of food waste.

“We’re sorry for the disruption and thank you for your understanding,” a council spokesperson said.
