Missed recycling collections continue in Somerset: Here’s where

DELAYS to recycling collections continue this week across Somerset.

Residents are being warned their pick-up may be delayed – or happen a day late – due to “a range of operational issues” at Somerset Council.

Today (Setpember 30), affected areas in Somerset are in and around Wells, Cheddar, Wookey Hole, Chewton Mendip and Priddy and their surrounding villages, as well as Curry Rivel and Chard.

“If residents’ recycling has not been collected on the day it is scheduled, they are asked leave boxes and bags out and crews will return the next day – there’s no need to report it,” a council spokesperson said.

“Crews will be working to try to make sure recycling is collected and will be working on Saturday if needed.”

If it’s been more than 24 hours and the recycling has not been collected, then residents should report a missed collection via somerset.gov.uk/missed-collection, they added.

It comes after household recycling collections were delayed last week, with crews making up shortfalls where possible on Saturday.
