Deadline approaching as North Somerset garden waste subscriptions up for renewal

PEOPLE in North Somerset are being urged to sign up to renew their garden waste collection subscriptions.

Renewals are now open for the North Somerset Council (NSC) service for 2026/27, with current plans set to expire on March 31.

The subscription rate for the forthcoming year is £70 per garden waste bin (maximum of two bins per household). For households unable to have a bin, it costs £70 for three garden waste bags (maximum of six bags).
People can subscribe online at www.n-somerset.gov.uk/gardenwaste.

Anyone without internet access can ask a friend or relative for help or visit any North Somerset library, which have free WiFi and public computers.

Payments cannot be taken in person at council offices.

A 75% discount is automatically applied for eligible households, including those receiving council tax reduction, living in student‑only households, receiving a severe mental impairment discount, or entitled to an armed forces exemption.

Permits should arrive in the post within 15 working days for those who renew, with recycling and waste calendars online at www.n-somerset.gov.uk/calendar.

If residents choose not to renew, no action is needed, as collections will automatically stop after March 31.

For more information, contact the Recycling and Waste team via gardenwaste@n-somerset.gov.uk.
