Somerset pupils snap picture with the Prime Minister during Parliament visit

PUPILS from a Somerset school got a personal welcome to the Houses of Parliament from the Prime Minister himself during a visit this week.

On Monday (December 15), pupils and staff from Whitstone School, in Shepton Mallet, were in Westminster with MP Tessa Munt (Lib Dem, Wells and Mendip Hills).

And while walking the corridors of power, they came across the man leading the country – Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer.

The PM even posed for a picture with the group, so the moment could be memorialised.

“It was fantastic to welcome pupils and staff from Whitstone School to Parliament,” Ms Munt said.

“It was brilliant to spend time with the group – who even had the opportunity for a photo to be taken with the Prime Minister.”
