A 26-YEAR-OLD man from Weston-Super-Mare has been ordered to pay £733 in fines and costs after being found to be driving a vehicle that was overweight by more than a tonne.
On December 17 last year, Adrain Pawel Czerwinski, of Longridge Way, Weston, was found to be driving a Mercedes Sprinter with a gross weight of 4,710kg – more than 1,000kg above the legal weight of 3,500kg.
The offence was recorded by the DVLA after Czerwinski was stopped on the A419 at Badbury, Wiltshire.
At a hearing before Wiltshire Magistrates’ Court in Swindon on July 11, Czerwinski admitted driving the overweight vehicle and was fined £400. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £160, as well as costs of £173.
