TWO people have been arrested after being taken to hospital following a fight in Taunton.

Police were called to an “altercation” between two people in Belvedere Road at around 1.25pm on Sunday afternoon (August 25), who were believed to have been known to each other.

“Both were arrested and have been taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.

“We are aware there has been speculative posts on social media about the police presence in the area,” they added.

“We hope this update provides reassurance to the public about what has happened and would ask people not to speculate on the circumstances.”
