SHOCKING speeds – including one driver at 81mph – were recorded on a busy road near Weston-Super-Mare during a police operation.
Officers were out on the A370 Somerset Avenue, Worle, “at the request of the community”, checking for speeding drivers.
“Enforcement started at around 10pm and around 100 vehicles were checked,” a police spokesperson said.
“A number were detected over the speed limit, the most notable at 81mph.
“Further enforcement will take place, and we would encourage motorists to drive within the speed limit.”
