POLICE are investigating after seven vehicles – including specially-adapted minibuses – were destroyed by a fire in Taunton.
The vehicles, used by schoolchildren and people with disabilities and owned by Somerset Council, were badly damaged by a blaze at the Silk Mills Park and Ride, in Bishops Hull.
Firefighters were sent to the scene at around 7.50pm on Saturday night (April 26).

“Officers are working with Somerset & Devon Fire and Rescue Service to investigate,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.
“Seven vehicles belonging to Somerset Council were destroyed at the compound in Bishops Hull. Thankfully no one was hurt.
“This will have a significant impact on vulnerable members of our community, and we urge anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.
“We especially want to hear from you if you saw someone acting suspiciously or have any relevant dashcam or other footage around the park and ride between 7pm and 8pm on Saturday.”
