POLICE in Street and Glastonbury will be able to sneak up on criminals in their squad car – thanks to a new electric vehicle.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team in the towns has unveiled a new Peugeot car, which is 100% electric – giving them the right to remain silent as they patrol the streets.
“Our Neighbourhood Policing Team is now testing a brand new 100% electric police car – and it’s already turning heads on patrol,” a spokesperson said.
“Not only is it sleek and silent, but it’s also helping us reduce our carbon footprint while keeping our communities safe.
“So if you spot us gliding by a little more quietly than usual, now you know why.”
