A PERSON with a ‘bladed article’ was arrested at Weston Carnival.
The incident, on Friday night (November 7), unfolded after a member of the public reported a “suspicious individual”.
Avon & Somerset Police said officers “were able to swiftly respond” and made an arrest.
“Thanks to their (the membe rof the public) quick thinking and willingness to speak up, the person in question was located, searched and a bladed article was taken off the streets and arrested without incident,” a spokesperson said.
“We’re incredibly grateful for their support — it’s a reminder that keeping our community safe is a shared effort.
“Because of their actions, everyone was able to enjoy the carnival in a safer, more secure environment.”
