A MAN believed to be in his 60s died after he was reportedly hit by a car that failed to stop in Taunton.
The man, a pedestrian, was found with significant injuries just before 1am today (January 13) on the A38 Wellington New Road.
Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene, and officers are trying to trace his next of kin.

The A38 was temporarily closed between its junctions with Silk Mills Road and Galmington Road while an investigation was carried out.
Officers are urging people to avoid the area.
“We’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area between midnight and 1am on Monday 13 January who may have relevant information or dashcam or other footage,” an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said.
