Man charged with drug offences and assaulting a police officer in Glastonbury

A MAN was arrested and charged after a police incident in Glastonbury.

Avon & Somerset Police said officers on foot patrol in the town on Wednesday (January 21) recovered a quantity of class-B drugs, with a man arrested and later charged with assaulting an emergency worker, obstructing a Section 23 drugs search, possession of class-B drugs, and possession of class-A drugs.

“He was swiftly taken into custody, charged, and will now appear before crown court,” a police spokesperson said.

“A huge thank you to the members of the public who stepped in to check on the welfare of our officer before additional units arrived.

“Your support makes a real difference and helps us continue keeping the community safe.”
