Man arrested on suspicion of threatening to stab a child in Worle

POLICE have arrested a man in connection with assaulting a child and threatening to stab the child at a McDonalds in Queensway in Worle.

The incident happened yesterday (July 10) at 3.20pm and police say the boy did not suffer any serious injuries.

The man is currently in custody and is being recalled to prison whilst the investigation into yesterday’s incident is completed.

North Somerset Neighbourhood Policing Team have thanked the public for assisting with the investigation.

A spokesperson said: “Yesterday evening our colleagues on the response team successfully identified, located, and arrested a man in connection with assaulting a child and threatening to stab the child at McDonalds Queensway yesterday afternoon.

“We would like to thank all the members of the community who assisted with information, evidence and supporting attending officers.

“It is with your help that we are able to keep Worle safe and detain those who are a risk to our communities.
