A MAN has been arrested after an alleged assault at a shop in Taunton.
Police were called to a convenience store in East Reach at just before 9pm on Monday night (August 18) after reports of a confrontation involving two members of the public.
“Although officers attended within 10 minutes, the suspect had already left the scene and despite a search could not be traced at that time,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.
However, officers said a man in his 30s was arrested in connection with the incident at just before 8.40pm on Tuesday (August 19) on suspicion of wounding with intent.
“The injured man, who is in his 50s, has thankfully since been released from hospital after treatment to his injuries,” the spokesperson added.
