POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an unknown person placed Islamophobic, hand-written stickers on street furniture and lamp posts in Weston-super-Mare.
Avon and Somerset Police said they are investigating a suspected hate crime after the stickers were found dotted around the town centre on January 17.

PCSO Supervisor Jakub Pietroczuk said: “Weston-super-Mare is a town which welcomes people of all backgrounds, races and religions.
“We are working proactively with the community to tackle hate crime and hate-related incidents and bring offenders to justice.
“Acts such as this will not be tolerated and we are asking anyone who has seen anything suspicious or has any information, to please get in touch. There is no place for hate crime in our communities.”
