AN e-scooter was seized after police spotted a man – with a female passenger – ignoring road signs in Glastonbury.
The seizure took place over the weekend, the Mendip Neighbourhood Policing Team said, after the rider was spotted with a passenger and not abiding by signs
They reminded people e-scooters are not legal to use on public roads, pavements, or cycle paths, with rental e-scooters only allowed, ridden solo, with riders obeying road signs, signals, and speed limits.
“Riding dangerously or illegally can lead to the seizure of the scooter, fines, and points on your licence,” a spokesperson added.
“Let’s work together to keep our streets safe. If you spot illegal e-scooter use, please report it.”
