Car stopped in Street after four children spotted with no car seats

A CAR carrying four children – none with car seats – was stopped in Street after a report by eagle-eyed members of the public.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, police said, when two members of the public flagged down PC James Higgins to report the car.

“Thanks to their sharp eyes and quick thinking, officers were able to locate and stop the vehicle within just 10 minutes,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.

“This is a brilliant example of how we can all play a part in keeping our roads safe.

“If something doesn’t look right, speak up — it really can make a difference.”

Under UK law, children must use a car seat until they’re 12 years old, or 135cm tall, whichever comes first.
