A MAN was punched to the floor in an attack outside a Bridgwater nightclub.

Police are appealing for information after an incident near the Palace nightspot, in Penel Orlieu, at around 1.15am on Saturday morning (March 23).

They said reports indicated a man had been punched to the floor and knocked unconscious.

“The victim, in his 40s, was taken to hospital with head injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening but are believed to be life-changing. His family have been informed,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.

A 31-year-old man from Bridgwater has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm without intent and remains in police custody.
