Arrest in Wells after search turns up drugs following reports from businesses

POLICE discovered “several wraps of cannabis” after searching a person in Wells.

Avon & Somerset Police said members of the Wells Police Neighbourhood Team, along with response officers, detained a male after receiving information from city businesses over drug dealing in the city centre.

“The male was found to be in possession of several wraps of cannabis,” a spokesperson said.

“(They) will be attending a police station for a formal interview and Criminal Justice Intervention.

“The Wells Neighbourhood team would like to thank those in the community that came forward with this information which led to a positive result in getting drugs off the streets.”
