POLICE will be able to disperse anyone acting in an anti-social way in Frome this weekend after securing an order granting special powers for officers.
Avon & Somerset Police confirmed a Section 34 Dispersal Authority order will be in place across the town centre throughout the weekend of February 6, 7, and 8.
“This power enables our officers to respond quickly and firmly to anyone causing ASB,” a spokesperson said.
“It allows us to issue dispersal notices, requiring individuals involved in disruptive behaviour to leave the area.
“Anyone who ignores a dispersal notice and returns within the set time period can be arrested.
“We’re committed to keeping Frome safe, and your reports continue to help us take action.”
They said the move comes after “recent reports of anti-social behaviour” in the town.
