Anti-semitic graffiti in Weston town centre prompts police probe

POLICE are hunting the people behind anti-semitic graffiti which appeared on a bus shelter in Locking Road and a wall near Birnbeck Pier in Weston-super-Mare.

The vandalism occurred near the Locking Road car park and near Birnbeck Pier some time between Monday, February 17 and the following day.

PCSO Supervisor for Avon & Somerset Police, Jakub Pietroczuk, said: “These acts of criminal damage are completely unacceptable and we condemn all forms of hate crime.

“The graffiti has already been removed by our colleagues from North Somerset Council’s community response team.

“We’d like to thank the members of the public who felt disturbed by the graffiti and picked up their phones to report it to us.
