Yeovil pub closes for £376,000 refurbishment to create ‘grandstand’ sports bar

A YEOVIL pub has closed today (January 26) – but only for a £376,000 makeover.

The Arrow is undergoing an overhaul before it re-opens as a ‘Grandstand’ sports pub, owner Marston’s has confirmed.

They said the venue, in The Forum, will return with a new design to “deliver a stadium-style experience on every visit”, including three-metre-long and 1.8-metre-tall screens, state-of-the-art sound systems, and tiered seating “to guarantee a great view of the action”.

Meanwhile, a refurbished outdoor area is promised with TV screens.

“The Arrow will also be decorated with local sports memorabilia and is calling on the community to share photographs and items to help celebrate the achievements of local sports stars and teams, past and present,” a spokesperson said.

Louise Goodland, pub partner, added: “We’re so excited to show off the new and improved pub. With a calendar of sports up ahead, it will be the perfect destination to get involved in big event atmosphere and soak up the action, especially thanks to some amazing new technology, food and drink offers and events.”

She said the pub would show key sporting fixtures, including football, rugby, cricket, tennis, F1, darts, horse racing, and more.

Regulation dart boards and pool tables will return, alongside new competition leagues and free-to-play recreational sessions.

Marston’s said The Arrow would re-open on February 18. For more information, and to book a table for the reopening, visit arrowyeovil.co.uk.
