WARRENS Bakery has confirmed it is opening in Weston High Street.
As previously reported by your Leveller, the store is set to open at 57 High Street.
Now, North Somerset Council (NSC) has confirmed it signed an agreement with the Cornwall-based chain to open its 44th store next month (June).
The shops is one of several in Weston High Street to have been renovated and restored and now, brought back into use
The council’s appointed contractor for the project, Bray & Slaughter, carried out work on the unit including removing the previous shopfront, signage and roller shutter door, and replacing it with a more traditional shopfront.
Energy efficiency improvements were installed to help the new occupiers offset premises costs, and in-line with the council’s commitment to tackle the climate emergency.
The project is thanks to NSC’s successful bid for £20m from the UK government to improve the town.

Councillor Mark Canniford, executive member responsible for placemaking, said: “Not only has our project made a significant positive difference to the building’s physical appearance but it’s extremely encouraging to see that the work has attracted a new business to operate in the town.
“This will help boost footfall and trade, and create jobs for local people. It’s excellent news all round.
“This proves that when landlords invest in their retail properties there is a very positive outcome.
“Wishing a warm Weston welcome to Warrens Bakery. I’m sure local people and visitors alike will enjoy this new addition and food offering on our High Street. We wish them every success.
“Business owners interested in the other units that we’re restoring – 67-69 and 73 High Street – should contact Carter Jonas, the estate agent marketing these properties on the council’s behalf.”
Craig Wood, assistant retail director at Warrens Bakery, added: “We’ve come a long way since our first ever family bakery in St Just. We’re excited and proud to be opening a new store in a prime position in the heart of popular Weston-super-Mare, serving customers a taste of Cornwall with our renowned pasties and a host of other delicious fresh produce.”
The new Warrens Bakery store in Weston is set to create between five and 10 new jobs, due to part-time roles.
