Somerset crafters, makers and artists to be showcased in new shop

A NEW shop showcasing the Somerset crafters, makers and artists is soon to open in Dulverton – and has some space left for traders.

Residents are excited about the new store, in the former Exmoor National Park Information Centre premises, next to the town library.

“Dulverton is in a glorious setting and attracts thousands of visitors,” said Ed Martin, proprietor of the new shop.

“The shop will be a showpiece for local crafters, makers, and artists to show off their fantastic skills and products.”

He said the store itself is “full of character, with a fireplace, beautiful deep window sills, and even a dry stone wall”.

“If you are a maker you won’t necessarily be restricted to fitting your products onto a standard sized shelf,” he said.

“So far I have only approached those makers I already know, so this is my first time of going ‘public’.

“The shop is filling fast, but I do have some spaces still available.”

People have responded to the news with enthusiasm. One resident called the news “awesome”, while another said they were “wishing you all the best for your new adventure”.
