SHOE Zone in Burnham-on-Sea will close later this month, it has been confirmed.
The store, in the High Street, is one of dozens the chain is shutting amid “challenging” financial conditions and falling consumer confidence.
It is understood three jobs will go in Burnham as a result of the closure.
In October last year, Shoe Zone posted a fall in revenues – to £149.1 million – of 7.6% compared to the previous year.
Charles Smith, chair of the brand, said the firm faced a “challenging” time, adding: “With persistent inflation, higher interest rates and reduced levels of disposable income all contributing to general negative economic and consumer sentiment in the UK.”
The Burnham-on-Sea store is set to close on January 18.
