Popular Langport gift shop announces closure: Here’s when

FLORIN – a prominent shop in Langport – is closing after 15 years.

The gift shop, at Beaufort House, in Cheapside, made the announcement on social media, with the final day of trading set for January 3.

Addressing the shop’s “lovely community”, the post by owner Wendy Collin said: “Sadly, we share the news that Florin will be permanently closing its doors, in two months’ time.

“Our last day of business will be Saturday, January 3, 2026 (So still here for your Christmas shopping).

“We are so grateful to everyone who has visited us in the last 15 years, it has been a joy.

“Thank you for being part of our journey and supporting a small independent business in Langport. We will miss you.

“We still have a lovely selection of stock, lots of great deals – come by.

“With love, from Wendy, Charlie and team Florin.”

Customers have reacted with shock to the news, with one posting: “My girls adore their visits. I love my visits. Such a beautiful, warm welcome. Florin feels like home, we will miss it so much.”

Another shopper wrote: “You’ll be so missed. Always the nicest place to shop. Gorgeous people, gifts and the best windows on the high street. All the very best to you all.”

“You and your shop will be greatly missed, it’s been a pleasure shopping in Florin over the years, with it’s lovely gifts, window displays (especially at Christmas) and of course staff,” another added.
