A NEW Lidl store will open in Bridgwater NEXT WEEK.
The branch, part of the Bridgwater Gateway site, off Taunton Road, will welcome customers from 8am on Thursday, December 4.
Grand opening celebrations will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Dave Creedy, president of the Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival.
And early visitors can also take advantage of free food sampling – with some special prizes up for grabs.
Shoppers can then visit the new outlet from 8am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
The multi million-pound store will create up to 40 new jobs, said Glen Stidever, regional head of property for Lidl GB.

He went on: “For over 20 years, we have been creating Lidl fans across Bridgwater and are delighted to open our doors to our second store in the town in time for Christmas.
“Today’s announcement is a testament to the growing demand for our affordable and high-quality products.
“Thank you to everyone who has played a part in supporting our stores and helping to make this new store a reality. It’s always an exciting moment when we’re finally able to see our plans come to life and make a difference to local communities.”
Meanwhile, primary schools in the Bridgwater area are being invited to join in the new Lidl Foodies Programme; a free initiative representing an investment of over £650,000 from the budget chain to provide teachers with resources to help children across the country develop a love for healthy eating.
Teachers who want to take part are encouraged to sign up via the National Schools Partnership website to make the most of ready-made workshop plans.
