A NEW pharmacy has opened in Wincanton.

Medicine Clinic, at Wincanton Pharmacy, opened in the High Street today (January 19).

It came after the closure of the previous pharmacy in 2024, with the new outlet run by owners Mitesh and Bvhani Patel, alongside operations manager Kris Hillary and manager, Jonathan Wood.

Somerset Councillors Tom Power and Lucy Trimnell (Con, Wincanton & Bruton) were on hand at the opening to check out the new pharmacy.

Cllr Power said: “I am delighted to be able to finally say that we have a pharmacy back on Wincanton High Street and the hard work and long process has been well worth the wait.

“My colleague Lucy Trimnell and I look forward to supporting Mitesh and the team in any way they need in the future.”

He added: “It was wonderful to see so many people coming in to the pharmacy to meet the team and see the services and products on offer.

“Everybody was commenting on how pleased they are to have a pharmacy back in the centre of the town and it seems as though this can only benefit the people and business in Wincanton.”
