New location revealed for major Somerset machinery sale

A MAJOR Somerset machinery sale has announced a new location after leaving its previous home.

Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s (GTH) 71st annual Walford Cross machinery sale is set to take place on Thursday, April 16.

It will be the first sale at a new site – a mile from the original venue – which GTH said was “minutes from the M5 and offers better access, a flatter sale field and substantiated track way”.

The annual event attracts vendors from near and far, with thousands of bids submitted for a raft of machinery.

Typically, GTH said the sale features more than 3,000 lots, ranging from tractors to tools and everything in between, including a vast range of machinery and livestock equipment.

“Walford Cross is the highlight of the machinery calendar in the south west, and a date to ensure is in your diary,” said GTH partner and auctioneer, Andrew Clements.

“Our fingers are crossed that the rain will stop by the time the confirmed date of Thursday, April 16, comes round.

“Our team will be busy booking in lots at the field between 9am and 4pm on both Tuesday, April 14, and Wednesday, April 15, before the big day itself on the Thursday.

“It’ll be an early start on the Thursday with the field opening from 8am, giving you an hour to grab a breakfast butty before the first of the sales commences at 9am.

“With up to five auctions running at once, this colossal sale has taken months of preparation due to the vast range and quantity of items on offer, so no one will be going home empty handed.”

The new sale field is six minutes from the M5 between Taunton and Bridgwater, at TA6 6NW. w.3.w///walked.flock.sanded.

To enter items, get in touch with the GTH team via machinery@gth.net, or on 01278 410250.
