Lando Norris, Formula 1, McLaren scooters and Somerset… How YOU can get involved

AN office complex developed on a farm on the outskirts of Glastonbury might feel a world away from the glitz and the glamour of Formula 1.

Bear with us here, we will explain how the buildings at New Farm Offices, on the Wells Road, have links to the sun-baked decks of yachts moored in Monaco to watch the fastest drivers in the world.

New Farm Offices is home to the headquarters of Pure Electric, a cutting-edge e-scooter business famed for it’s two-wheeled creations, including tie-ins with the likes of Formula 1 maestros, McClaren.

And the motor racing links don’t end there, for Pure was founded by entrepreneur Adam Norris – whose son Lando is a former Millfield pupil and current McClaren-Mercedes formula 1 driver.

The family has long links with Glastonbury and the broader Somerset area, while Lando was born in Bristol.
Schooled at Millfield, the family was based in Glastonbury throughout.

Now, the people of Somerset can once again have an impact on the progress of the Norris family.

The company is launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise millions from community investors, building on the £70 million of investment it has secured to date.

Mr Norris, a successful entrepreneur known for scaling companies like Hargreaves Lansdown, has invested £60 million of his own money into Pure Electric, which turned over in excess of £20 million in its last financial year.

He is now inviting e-mobility enthusiasts to join him in driving the firm’s rapid growth.

The company already operates in nine countries and is available in 800 stores, including major retailers like Curry’s, Halfords, and FNAC.

“Whether it’s Formula One or in business, the team is everything,” said Adam.

“Pure Electric’s crowdfunding campaign is not just about raising capital; it’s about creating a community and team of investors who share in the company’s vision to transform urban mobility.

“There are 4.4 billion people living in cities where urban transport is expensive, polluting, and inconvenient.

“Our beautiful and innovative products are a crucial component of the broader e-mobility revolution, offering a sustainable, and fun solution to urban congestion and pollution.”

As Lando Norris scales the heights of Formula 1, Somerset residents can now help his dad’s business – based in the company – hit the podium in e-scooter development.
