STAFF past and present are being urged to come forward to help celebrate a Taunton store’s 250th birthday.

Workers from Hatchers, in the High Street, are being encouraged to help the landmark department store mark the occasion.

“As part of our preparations for our 250th birthday, we are looking to take a group photo of our staff – past and present – including concession staff,” a spokesperson said.

“If you’ve been part of our family store over the years and are happy to turn up for a press photo and bump in to some vaguely familiar faces from your distant past, we’d like to hear from you.”

They added: “We’ve not set a date for the photo just yet but expect it to be within a month.

“After the photo, there’ll be a chance to come in to our coffee shop for a catchup if you have time.

“If you know someone who used to work at Hatchers, we’d really appreciate you sharing this message to them on our behalf – thank you. Don’t be shy – we’d love to see you all.”
