BUDDING Ben Stokes and Lauren Bells in Claverham have been given a boost to help them achieve their dreams thanks to a new sports fund backed by former England cricketer Darren Gough.
Calverham (Yatton) Cricket Club were in need of new removable netting to help give their young teams the best chance of sporting success.
The club was successful in receiving money for the project from the £75,000 Gigaclear Rural Sports Club fund which aims to support teams based in rural communities across the broadband company’s full fibre network, which spans 26 counties.
Club Chair John Ashman said: “Gigaclear’s support has been brilliant in helping with the development of the club’s training facilities.
“This has been vital in our aim to offer cricket to everyone in the community.”
