SHOPPERS in Taunton can save on parking as they browse for the bargains this Christmas.
Taunton Town Council has announced it will wave charges in its car parks on Saturdays, December 13 and 20.
The free parking offer will apply to the following car parks in Taunton:
Canon Street
Castle Street
Coal Orchard
The Crescent
Enfield
High Street
Orchard
Tangier
Whirligig
Wood Street
“It’s the perfect opportunity to do your Christmas shopping, meet friends for a coffee and support our brilliant local businesses in the run up to Christmas,” a council spokesperson said.
“Let’s make Taunton sparkle this Christmas and enjoy everything our town centre has to offer.”

Great! Just what Taunton needs. Busy shops, christmas music, hustle and bustle, festive spirit, and coffee with cake!
Does that mean staff will all fill them up leaving no spaces for shoppers? You need to put a 2 or 4 hour limit on it. Remember during Covid we had hospital staff filling up car parks.
