THE former Blackdown Motor Company site in Walton is up for sale.

The 1.29-acre plot, near Street, is being marketed for sale by Cooper and Tanner of Glastonbury with an asking price of £925,000.

Known as Pursey’s Garage, the listing said the Main Street site “comes to the open market having been within the same family ownership for generations”.

The Blackdown Motor Company shut suddenly in December last year, with staff made redundant in the run-up to Christmas.

Now the plot, including more than 10,000ft of internal accommodation, is on the market and could be developed into housing or other commercial use, the listing said.

Pictures show an empty showroom, though booths previously used for consultations remain.

“Offering scope for a wider range of alternative uses or potentially residential or commercial redevelopment opportunities,” the listing added.
