THE popular Bridgwater Fair and West Street Market will run from September 24 to 27.
Organised by the Showman’s Guild, the historic main fair will get underway on Wednesday, September 24, featuring a one-day horse fair and market at St Matthews Field.
Mayor of Bridgwater, Councillor Kathy Pearce, will be invited to open the fair at 11am on Wednesday that day, and will also be judging the Best West Street Stall competition from 11am on Thursday.
Opening and closing times for Bridgwater Fair and Street Markets are:
Wednesday: 11am to 11pm
Thursday: 1pm to 11pm
Friday: 1pm to 11.30pm
Saturday: 11am to 11pm
The markets are overseen by Bridgwater Town Council (BTC), which also funds public conveniences, first aid, night-time security and generators, as well as providing skips for trader and visitor waste.

Temporary toilets are also provided adjacent to Westfield House; behind the One-Stop shop in West Street, and on St Matthews Field, near the Horse and Jockey Public House.
First Aid is provided by Western Medical who can be found at the top of West Street behind Westfield Church.
BTC will also have a small team of staff on duty as marshals during the West Street and Fairfield Markets, with Cleansing staff cleaning and sweeping up after the fair and markets are over.
Road closures will be in place around West Street from 9am on Tuesday, September 23, re-opening at 10am on Sunday, September 28, with diversion routes signposted.
Limited parking will be available from Thursday until Saturday with the Rotary Club of Bridgwater in St Matthews Field. Other parking is available in town centre pay and display car parks.
There will be some parking restrictions in residential streets adjacent to Fairfield and lower Durleigh Road.
