A GALLERY aimed at celebrating and supporting Somerset artists and makers is marking its first year.
On June 8, the Talent Gallery, in Fore Street, Wellington, celebrates its one-year anniversary.
Over the past year, the gallery has aimed to become a cornerstone in the community, providing a platform for talented artists and makers to showcase their work and connect with art enthusiasts.
In 2024, the former Talent Gallery was due to shut down, but Wellington artist and resident Nina King stepped in, with ambitious plans to transform the space.
She re-opened the gallery in June last year with a new mission and fresh purpose.
“It’s been an incredible first year, and I’m so proud of the community we’ve built at Talent Gallery,” said Nina.
“My vision for Talent Gallery was to create a space where local artists feel supported and where everyone can discover the joy of art.
“Reaching this milestone is a testament to the talent within our community and the wonderful support we’ve received.”

Talent Gallery offers a diverse range of artwork and handcrafted items, with Nina using her experience as an artist to create a welcoming environment for both creators and collectors.
As well as showcasing the work of Somerset creatives, Talent Gallery has also successfully launched art workshops.
And the venue aims to continue its work in the coming years, Nina added.
“We’re excited for what the next year holds and look forward to continuing to serve our vibrant artistic community,” she said.
The Talent Gallery is at 11 Fore Street, Wellington.
