A COUNTRYSIDE-INSPIRED circus is heading for Bridgwater next week.
The Farm Yard Circus (FYC) will bring its free family circus festival to Blake Gardens between 10am and 5pm on Saturday, July 26.
“From acrobatics to juggling, it will be a full day of fun, laughter and wonder for all ages featuring performances from world-class circus performers,” a spokesperson said.
There will also be performances from The Sound of the Streets band, Cirque de Silk, and Circ Hes Gen A on the day.
“Visitors can look forward to a high-energy, boot-stomping spectacle featuring gravity-defying acrobatics and skilful juggling with hay bales, wheelbarrows, a tractor tyre, and even an old scarecrow,” they added.
“With a bespoke live soundtrack setting the rhythm, the day will be filled with captivating theatre, daring circus acts, and toe-tapping music from beginning to end.”

Jeremy James, events and outreach officer at Bridgwater Town Council, added: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Farm Yard Circus to Bridgwater.
“Thanks to the support of the Bridgwater Town Deal, we’re able to bring more joyful and inclusive arts events to our public spaces.
“This free festival is a celebration of creativity, community, and good old-fashioned fun – and we can’t wait to see families enjoying a brilliant day of entertainment right in the heart of town.”
Farm Yard Circus performances aim to combine impressive skill with playful storytelling, steeped in a love of rural life.
“We love performing in places where people don’t always get access to live arts – and Bridgwater feels like the perfect place to pitch our metaphorical big top,” said Jackie Clementines, co-founder and performer.
“Our show is designed to make people smile, move, and feel like part of something – whether you’re two or 92.”
Performances will run throughout the day.
